Automation , Fill Key Roles to Support & Drive Future Growth SANTA
ANA, CA, August 3, 2005 - PRO-DEX, INC. (NASDAQ: PDEX), a developer and manufacturer
of embedded motion control and miniature rotary drive systems, serving the medical,
dental, factory automation, and scientific research markets, today announced the
hiring of both Ajay Kumar and Mark Bennett. Mr. Kumar has been appointed Vice
President of Product Development. Mr. Bennett has been named Director of Sales
for the Company's Factory Automation segment. These two professionals bring significant
experience and proven track records to Pro-Dex setting the stage for continued
future growth. Mr. Kumar possesses a diverse background in product development,
with particular emphasis in the dental and medical industries. Specializing in
virtual product development techniques, he most recently served as a Director
of New Product Development for Dental Division of Zimmer Incorporated, where he
led a team of R&D engineers and designers to develop the Company's next generation
implant design. Mr. Kumar is named on 12 issued and 15 pending patents. His previous
positions included Manager of the R&D Department and Projects for Nobel Biocare,
and R&D Engineer for Steri-Oss. Mr Kumar has an MBA from University of California,
Irvine and a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University. In addition,
he has a MSME from the University of Southern Illinois and a BSME from the India
Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India. Mr. Bennett joins Pro-Dex from
Encoder Products Company, where he served as Business Development Manager for
Encoder's Motion Control and Industrial Control Distributors. Previously, Mr.
Bennett worked for the Parker Electromechanical Automation Technology Center,
serving in an outside sales capacity and also as an Applications Engineer. Previously,
Mr. Bennett spent five years at Minarik Corporation, serving as Sales Manager
and an Applications Engineer. In addition, he has a BSME from Oregon State University. Patrick
