Multiple New Product Launches Scheduled for Chicago Dental Society
Mid-Winter Meeting
SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PRO-DEX, INC.
(Nasdaq: PDEX - News), a provider of embedded motion control and miniature rotary
drive systems, serving the medical, dental, semi-conductor, and scientific
research markets, today announced that several products it has been developing
for major names in the dental industry will be launched at the up-coming
annual meeting of the Chicago Dental Society. The meeting scheduled for the
24th through the 27th of February brings together dental industry
manufacturers, distributors and dealers from around the world to introduce new
products and clinical techniques to dentists in America's heartland.
Among the products that can be seen at the meeting, a new electric motor controller
for performing endodontic (root canals) procedures will be shown by SybronEndo,
a division of Sybron Dental Specialties, a long-time customer of Pro-Dex. The
new motor controller contains proprietary technology that allows the device
to communicate directly with SybronEndo's Elements(TM) Diagnostic Unit, permitting
the doctor to simultaneously shape the root canal and measure the progress of
that shaping procedure.
Also being introduced at the meeting is the next generation of the
IntraFlow(TM) Anesthesia Delivery System from IntraVantage, Inc. The new
IntraFlow(TM) HTP is a one-step intraosseous system, that instantly delivers
anesthesia to a targeted tooth. This eliminates facial numbness and patient
discomfort, during and after the dental procedure, as is normally associated
with delivering local anesthesia. Given the success of the original
IntraFlow(TM) released in 2003, Pro-Dex in conjunction with IntraVantage's
design team, developed a more compact and ergonomically pleasing handpiece as
the central component of the System. Finally, a duo of new prophy handpieces manufactured by Pro-Dex will be
available from Sullivan-Schein Dental, a division of Henry Schein Inc., under
the Henry Schein brand name of Acclean(R). The two handpieces are specially
designed for use by dental hygienists in providing prophylactic teeth
cleaning. Ergonomically designed and constructed of aluminum and stainless
steel, the handpieces provide a light feel, while delivering superior
performance and reliability. Total first year sales of these three new products is projected to be
approximately $2,500,000. Pro-Dex has already begun delivery of two of the
products and is scheduled to begin shipments of the third by the end of
February. Pro-Dex will also be showing several recent additions to its Micro
Motors line of branded handpieces, products that are sold by major North
American dental dealers. Pro-Dex will be exhibiting in booth #109 at the
McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago. Sybron Dental Specialties, Inc. (NYSE: SYD - News), is a leading manufacturer of

delivery technology for medical and dental applications. The Company's first
